We’ve spent a lot of time developing our gearbox tunes to suit a sportier, but not aggressive, driving style. Below are our most common focus areas for gearbox tuning on Mercedes, VAG, and BMW vehicles however if there’s something not listed here that you’d like us to look into then please do let us know. Our Gearbox Tunes
Increased Torque Limiters
When tuning the engine management system torque limiters are increased, however if the vehicle is equipped with a DSG gearbox the engine output will be limited by the torque limiter set in the DSG module. We raise the DSG torque limiter to match the engine torque output.
Quicker Shift Speeds
Shift speeds can be increased by up to 20%, this reduces lag and improves acceleration. The quicker shift speeds will also give a smoother transition between gear changes and improve paddle shift response time which removes/reduces lag time.
RPM Limits & Shift Set Points
RPM limits and shift set points can be adjusted in drive and sports mode. Adjusting the rpm limiter as part of the engine ECU remap is not enough on a DSG equipped vehicle. The DSG ECU will determine at what rpm the gear shift takes place.
Launch control can be activated (model specific). Launch control will allow your car to make the perfect launch every time, reducing your 0 – 60 time and increasing the fun factor. We’ve also reduced the delay when pulling away from a standstill for a better driving experience. We can also tailor this for a three step launch control depending on rpm and throttle positioning.
Full Manual Mode
Even when in manual mode stock DSG software will force the gearbox to change up or kick down etc. With our custom DSG Remap we are able to give the driver full control by preventing auto changing when in manual mode (Model Specific). This allows the transmission to function as it should at high torque levels so that the TCU does not reduce the torque artificially so long as the downshift is below the redline.
When at a lower throttle we’ve developed our gearbox tunes to ensure that the TCU doesn’t go for the highest gears as in the stock mapping, this keeps the turbo spooled between shifts to suit that sportier driving style so that each gear will shift for better acceleration.
We raise the clutch pressure to around 17bar (vehicle specific) to continue raising the clutch pressure when driving in higher torque conditions.

Stage 1 files are made to enhance mileage and comfort. Shiftpoints are adapted to make optimal use of your engines torque and keep revs low and steady all the time. Gearbox Torque Limiters are removed to open the way for proper operation when paired with tuned engines.
Stage 2 files focus on the sporty aspects, without compromising comfort. Shiftpoints and Clutch-Pressures are adapted to speed up shifting and reduce reaction times.
Stage 3 Maps are made for everyone having fun driving fast and going to race-tracks. While the standard D-Mode mostly retains factory smoothness the Sport and Manual modes are optimized for the fastest shifts possible. Eventually features like Launch Control and “True Manual Mode” are added.
