The tuning process involves the replacement of a physical module within the car followed by the software being modified with MapEV's own calibration. This allows for increased horsepower and torque, better launch control, improved throttle response as well as in some cases optimised shifting (taycan/GT) and increased maximum top speed.

Only the limitations in the powertrain control module are modified. The electric motor controllers and the battery controller are not modified in any way and their output never exceeds the factory rated maximum safety parameters. The limitations of the thermal envelope also remain fully intact.
